About Bolt

Bolt hit the conformation ring at 9 months of age. We traveled to Purina Farms in Grey Summit, MO in September of 2017. We entered him in the all breed show the weekend before our Border collie nationals. The following week at Nationals for Bolt started out with his sweepstakes entry. He took Runner up best puppy in sweepstakes. There were 51 puppies entered and 42 showed. He beat 41 puppies for this honor! Bolt finished his AKC Championship in March 2019 and later his IntCH. He is half way completed with his UKC CH but there was just not enough shows available to finish him before we retired him to a performance home.

Bolt has been trained for rally, agility, some herding and obedience. He has trialed in rally and conformation. He did amazing his first few times on livestock. This boy is a great all around dog with a fantastic personality.

His favorite love is for the disc. He will jump into your arms and fly as high as he can manage to snatch a disc from the air. He has taken his talents with him and now lives in Fayetteville North Carolina. Rehoming Bolt was a very hard decision but my personal life required that I put his needs before mine. Its wonderful knowing he's happy and able to enjoy a full life with the one-on-one attention he deserves.

5/21/21 Today is a day of mixed emotions. Sad beyond words that we parted ways but happy that the parting brings joy to Bolt and his new family. We will see him at the local shows and look forward to hearing all about his adventures. I just wish that life didn't leave me struggling to keep up with him. Bolt deserves more than I could give at this time and I'm so thankful to his new owner for being able to give him the active life I can't. He's a wonderful dog, just the sweetest soul. By far one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. . .

10/19 - 10/20/19 AKC Rally trial in Sarasota, FL. Bolt was entered in Advanced for the first time. Saturday there were two trials in one day and just one on Sunday.

Trial #1: 100/100 2nd Place, Qualified 1st leg toward his RA

Trial #2: 99/100 3rd Place, Qualified 2nd leg toward his RA

97/100 4th Place, Qualified 3rd leg and NEW RA TITLE

3/23 - 3/24/19 Saturday Bolt took BOW and BOBOH for a 5 point major in Newberry, FL. NEW AKC CHAMPION! On Sunday he was in the ring for the first time as a special and took BOBOH.

2/17/19 Today Bolt passed his official Temperament Test with flying colors, earning the TT certification. He even positioned himself in front of me to protect me on the last test. I'm so proud of this young boy.

1/12 - 1/13/19 The first weekend in Brooksville, FL Bolt was entered in both Breed and Rally. Results were:

     Reserve winners dog

Intermediate Rally score 99/100 1st place (2nd leg)

     Reserve Winners dog

Intermediate Rally Score 98/100 1st place (NEW TITLE)

10/27 - 10/28/18 Saturday Bolt won Best of Winners and BOBOH for 1 point. He later went on to win an owner handled Herding Group 1. Sunday Bolt again took Best of Winners and BOBOH. We weren't able to stay for groups today. He now only needs 3 points total to finish his CH and 1 major win.

8/25 - 8/26/18 Saturday, Bolt was entered in Novice B at the St. Petersburg Obedience and Rally trial. He was very distracted today but we managed to pull off a 95/100 and 4th place for a new title (RALLY NOVICE: RN). On Sunday I moved him up to Intermediate Level. His focused returned and other than a minor issue where he wanted to down instead of sit when halting, he did fantastic. He earned 99/100 and 2nd place earning his 1st leg in Intermediate Rally. I've attached a video to his web page.

6/13 - 6/17/18 The Tampa Cluster proved to be a very successful week of showing. Wednesday Bolt was WD for 1 CH point. Thursday & Friday he was not entered in Conformation but Friday he was entered in Rally Novice. His first performance debut went so well. Two Rally shows in 1 day. Show #1 he earned 2nd place with a score of 97/100. Show #2 he earned a perfect score 100/100 and 1st place. Saturday at the AB show Bolt won his first major earning 4 CH points. He won Best of Winners. At the Herding Specialty same day he took reserve to the major. He also went for his CAER exam and passed with flying colors. Sunday Bolt was not entered.

2/17 - 2/18/18 This weekend Bolt was entered in the Sun N' Fun AKC conformation show located in Lakeland, FL. Saturday Bolt took first in his class but no points to follow. However, on Sunday Bolt took Best of Winners for his first 2 points towards his AKC Championship. So proud of our boy!

9/8/17 Today Bolt was entered in our BCSA Nationals 9-12 month Puppy dog sweepstakes competition. He won Runner up to best puppy in sweepstakes! 51 dogs were entered and 42 showed meaning he beat 40 other dogs for this fantastic win his first time out. We are so extremely proud of him. Great start to a bright future.

7/11/17 Today Bolt passed his GCG test and his AKC Novice Trick Dog Test with flying colors. This is only just the beginning of whats to come for this talented pup. He's now 7 months old.

1/19/17  Today I flew home from Oklahoma with our new boy. I loved being able to see the whole litter and evaluate them. What a fantastic litter. Full of personality! So much thanks to breeder Stephanie Bales with Rockcreek Border Collies for raising such social butterflies and allowing me to take this boy home.
